I am reminded of how Danny was written as Muslim in We Are Who We Are. Islam believers condemn homosexuality. And we see how Danny broke down after his “best friend” dies in the war. I don’t know why Muslims are more than once described as “closeted gays/bi” as we can see how Brody was in love with his controller figure in Homeland.

At first watch I didn’t get what this show was about. But now to me it’s the show that best describes the dynamics between me and other people and how the “friend group” thing works.

Every show is kind of gay if you think about it. Like Homeland has a crazy woman who is obsessed with a soldier who is dangerous and loves sex with her but dislikes her. Then she saves him and eventually he dies for the country. And that’s a “star”? It’s so … ironic. A hero turned terrorist turned unsung hero who finally became a “star”. In the meanwhile Brody was in love with his handler who became a father figure to him and made him a Muslim. The story is really really interesting and if you think about it, lots of metaphors.
